HOUND CHECK

Chunky coats, leather watches, black loafers, cashmere cardigans, and hound check.

Houndstooth check derives from a ‘hound’s tooth’, a traditional pattern loved by those in the fashion field throughout history. Also known as ‘pied de poule’, or ‘pied de coq’ in French, the broken checks and notched corners are time-honored.

Check patterns have made another comeback as the most recent trend in the fashion industry. Continuing to maintain their reputation as a statement classic, checks go well with any type of material or accessory.
Designer AORI took her composed taste in style to a dusty orange and deep green weave on her own twist of the iconic pattern.
