“Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere.” Mae West, an American actress, screenwriter, and playwright, garnered “bad girl” reputation for her own plays and films that ridiculed conventional social attitudes, especially toward sex. As an early supporter of Women’s Liberation Movement, she portrayed women who accepted their lives of dubious virtue with facetious humor.

Along with her provocative personality, Mae West was also a beloved sex symbol with her voluptuous figure and full red lips. Salvador Dali once paid his tribute to her luscious beauty with “The Mae West Sofa” shaped after her iconic lips.
